How are Super Lawyers selected?

Vaziri Law Group is proud to announce that our Managing Partner, Siamak Vaziri, has been selected to the 2021 California Super Lawyers list. Two of our attorneys – David C. Shay and Matt Taylor – have also been included in the 2021 California Rising Stars list. These are incredible honors, and we are very proud of the work our team does.

What is Super Lawyers?

Super Lawyers is a rating service that rates lawyers in all 50 states. Lawyers in over 70 practice areas are rated based on professional achievements and peer recognition. Super Lawyers and Rising Stars are selected using a patented selection process. These lists are then included in Super Lawyers Magazine and are published online.

How are Super Lawyers Selected?

Attorneys are selected to the Super Lawyers list based on the patented multiphase selection process used by Super Lawyers, which is part of Thomson Reuters. Selections are made annually on a state-by-state basis. 

The goal of Super Lawyers is to create a comprehensive list of credible, diverse, and outstanding attorneys that serves as a resource for consumers and other attorneys.

The Super Lawyers selection process evaluates attorneys on 12 indicators of professional achievement and peer recognition. These 12 indicators include:

  • Verdicts/Settlements
  • Transactions
  • Representative Clients
  • Experience
  • Honors/Awards
  • Special Licenses/Certifications
  • Position within a Law Firm
  • Bar or Professional Activity
  • Pro Bono or Community Service
  • Scholarly Writings/Lectures
  • Education and Employment Background
  • Other Outstanding Achievements

Using these indicators and a peer evaluation, candidates are selected to both the Super Lawyers and Rising Stars list for their respective state and practice area. Super Lawyers lists include representatives from small, medium, and large law firms. Of the many candidates each year, only five percent of attorneys are selected to Super Lawyers. Only 2.5 percent of attorneys are selected to the Rising Stars list.
