Matt Taylor graduated from the University of California at Irvine, where he majored in Political Science. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Whittier College, graduating Cum Laude, whereat he was an Editor of the Law Review, and received awards for legal writing, counseling, negotiating, and civil trial advocacy. Matt also studied international and family law in Curacao, the Netherlands Antilles. After law school, Matt accepted an associate attorney position in the Los Angeles office of one of the largest law firms in the United States.
There he spent over 10 years, working his way up from junior associate to partner. His practice areas included premises liability, auto/transportation collisions, products liability, use of force, food-borne illness, construction/job site accident, toxic torts and habitability, homeowners' association disputes, indemnity and subrogation, inverse condemnation, real estate transactions, business/commercial disputes, medical and veterinarian malpractice, construction defect, defamation, and protection of the First Amendment.
Matt's skills as a litigator gained him notable peer recognition, as he was selected as a Super Lawyer Rising Star for 5 consecutive years. Matt now focuses his abilities and tenacity on helping those that have been injured through the conduct of others. He is motivated every day by two things:
(1) His drive to win; and (2) His clients appreciate his hard work. Matt knows how to pick up a file, assess its strengths, weaknesses, and “cut to the chase.” Litigation can be a long and drawn-out process for some, but Matt has a keen sense of case evaluation, which allows him to pick up the phone, talk to the other side, and quickly determine if a favorable resolution can be reached quickly, or if the case needs to be tried. Matt lives in Santa Monica with his wife and two children. He enjoys travel, softball, SCUBA diving, and hiking.
