AVAILABLE POSITIONS
Associate Attorney
Essential Duties:
- Draft and prepare briefs, settlement offers, discovery motions, motions for summary judgment and all trial motions
- Take and defend all levels of depositions from witnesses, parties, and experts
- Correspond with clients and the counsel for the opposing side
- Interview clients to understand their case's details, identifying issues, and determining a strategy for settlement or trial
- Negotiate settlements with the other party's attorney on behalf of clients
- Prepare cases for trial by interviewing witnesses, acquiring evidence, and conducting investigations
- Help clients prepare for mediation sessions or settlement conferences with opposing counsel
- Educate clients about their legal rights and responsibilities throughout the process
- Prepare and file court documents such as complaints or motions
- Represent clients in court proceedings
Required Skills and Experience:
- Licensed and in good standing with the California State bar
- At least 3 years of experience specializing in general liability or personal injury
- Trial experience is a plus
- Ability to negotiate favorable and cost-effective settlements
- Ability to manage and prioritize large and complex case load
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Excellent research and analytical skills
- Empathetic and emotionally intelligent
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
Sr. Litigation Paralegal
Essential Duties:
- Responsible for up to 100 active litigation files under supervision of trial attorney
- Quickly and correctly respond to and propound discovery
- Set up meetings with clients
- Read, analyze and summarize medical records adequately
- Prepare litigation exhibit binders, trial documents and motions in limine
- Oversee other administrative staff to ensure compliance with deadlines and firm policies
- Familiarize with case issues and client medical treatment
- Familiarity with California Code of Civil Procedure filing deadlines and requirements, as well as Federal Court in California
- Trial preparation is mandatory for this position
- Full knowledge of preparation of motions, oppositions to Motions for Summary Judgment, Separate Statements, Statements of Damages and all aspects of litigation pleadings required
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years' experience in Personal Injury- litigation
- Excellent grammar, typing, transcription and writing skills
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
Sr. Litigation Assistant
Essential Duties:
- Oversee other administrative staff to ensure compliance with deadlines and firm policies
- Quickly calendar and assign tasks to voluminous daily mail while assisting team with preparing for trial
- Format, file, proof, and prepare various legal pleadings including discovery, expert designations, declarations, subpoenas, and trial documents.
- Manage and coordinate calendar and travel for senior trial attorney
- Retain experts and witnesses
- Familiarity with California Code of Civil Procedure filing deadlines and requirements, as well as Federal Court in California
Required Skills and Experience:
- Excellent grammar, typing, transcription and writing skills
- 5+ years' experience in Personal Injury – litigation
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
Medical Records Clerk
Essential Duties:
- Initiate contact with clients
- Retrieve and organize client medical records and billing, both electronic data and paper files
- Collaborate with Case Manager while retrieving, organizing, and inputting information for 50 – 100 active cases
- Obtain third-party subrogation lien amounts and put settlement demand packages together
- Perform related clerical duties related to client medical records, billing, and demand packages
Required Skills and Experience:
- 1-2 years of working personal injury experience related to this position, preferably on the plaintiff side
- Must have strong computer skills and be fully proficient with MS Office Suite: Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Experience with Filevine and Abacus Law software is a plus
- Must be a self-starter and work well under pressure within a busy, fast-paced business environment
- Must be able to accommodate weekly work hours: Monday-Friday from 8:30am to 5:30pm
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus but not required
Law Clerk
Essential Duties:
- Prepare discovery motions and meet and confer correspondence
- Prepare motions in limine
- Prepare trial briefs
- Prepare summary judgment motions and oppositions
Required Skills and Experience:
- 2nd or 3rd year law student or
- Recent law school graduate who would serve as a trial law clerk
Successful candidates will also be considered for associate position upon successful passage of California State Bar Exam and satisfactory completion of law clerkship. Preferred top 100 law school with desire to take CA bar exam.
