Sarah Venit is a Los Angeles native. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Psychology from the University of Michigan- Ann Arbor. After participating in an AmeriCorps program for one year on Chicago's west side, Sarah moved to San Francisco to attend law school at University of California Law San Franscisco (FKA UC Hastings), where she earned her JD. During her 3l year, Sarah participated in the Juvenile Law and Fair Sentencing Clinic through Loyola Law School, where she represented clients who were either wrongly convicted or sentenced unfairly as children, and were serving their unjust sentences as adults.
Upon graduating from law school and passing the California bar, Sarah began working at Children's Law Center, representing minors who were victims of neglect or abuse. Her primary goal was always to ensure the child's safety while making sure the child had access to resources ranging from mental health support to education support. Sarah then moved into the private law sector, working as a family law attorney, handling all matters pertaining to the family dynamic. There, Sarah advocated for clients going through extremely emotional and trying times, ranging from issues within a divorce like property, custody, support, to ensure that the process was as smooth as possible for each client. She also represented clients both seeking, and defending against, restraining orders.
In her free time, Sarah enjoys reading, cooking, enjoying the sunshine and hanging with her dogs, Rigatoni and Lola.
