$806,000
Verdict - $806,000
Premises Liability - March 2023
On March 10, 2023 a Riverside jury returned a verdict of $806,000 in favor of our client who was the victim of a slip and fall incident at a restaurant in Corona, California. Defendant's maintenance employee was mopping the tile floor around the buffet area while customers were still in the restaurant and failed to put out caution cones. As the plaintiff was walking with the restaurant manager back to the buffet area, she slipped and fell on the wet floor sustaining a spinal injury which resulted in the implantation of a spinal cord stimulator.
The defendant argued that plaintiff was contributorily negligent and that her injuries were not as a result of the subject incident. Defendant made a statutory offer of $250,000 and in their closing argument recommended that the jury returned a verdict between $20,000-$35,000.
Mark J. Giannamore of the Vaziri Law Group and co-counsel firm tried the case on behalf of plaintiff. The trial took nearly 4 weeks after years of litigation which uncovered crucial evidence which helped the jury see through the defense's arguments and rendered justice on behalf of our most deserving client.
